Edwin B. Rabin, DC / Ed Rabin
Dr. Ed Rabin

Ed Rabin is a native Floridian, and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Microbiology and Cell Science. He continued into a graduate program at UF's College of Veterinary Medicine, where he worked toward a Master's Degree focusing on the study of parasites, intending to make a career in treatment and prevention of Malaria.
However, the required animal research made him rethink those plans, and instead, he moved to work in the hospital's Clinical Pathology laboratories where he spent the next eight years--ultimately supervising the departments of hematology, chemistry, urinalysis and immunology.
In 1992, Ed returned to graduate school, this time at Life University, College of Chiropractic in Marietta, Georgia. During those four years of training, he also worked for Cryolife, Inc, a company specializing in preserving heart valves and other tissue for transplantation. His job duties included screening potential organ donors and routing collected transplant tissue by air back to the laboratory.
Also during chiropractic school, he authored study guides in Pathology and Microbiology/Public Health to help prepare students for the Chiropractic National Board Examination. Using these, he taught hundreds of chiropractic students in the subjects as a Board Review Instructor until 1996 when he graduated Valedictorian of his class. The newly-minted Dr. Rabin then returned to Florida to begin practicing chiropractic.
Until moving to Idaho in 2002, Dr. Rabin had dual practices in Tampa and Clearwater and served on the board of directors of a large business guild. During that time, he also assisted production of a weekly radio program on natural health, "Your Way to Wellness," whose then-tiny product information site went on (without him) to become a huge on-line retailer of natural products and a leader in the field.
In addition to his Boise practice, from July 2005 through March 2008, Dr. Rabin wrote a weekly column for the alternative newspaper, The Boise Weekly. Called "The Antidote," it was an informative (and arguably humorous) look at alternative medicine, supplements and health folklore. The archives of these one hundred columns can be found here, and range from examination of drinking your own urine to detoxifying body wraps.
Presently, Dr. Rabin holds active chiropractic licenses in four states and, along with his practice, is an independent reviewer for insurance companies that wish to have opinions on appropriateness of chiropractic and related therapies in very specific cases, most often within the worker's compensation system.
Update: Dr. Rabin has relocated to Brooklyn where he is navigating the intricacies of opening a membership-style practice in New York. Please watch this website for an announcement and grand opening!
