Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique

The activator is a small hand-held adjusting instrument which delivers a precisely measured, gentle thrust in a specific direction. Among the most researched of all major chiropractic techniques, Activator Methods uses a series of isolation tests, performed by the patient under the direction of the doctor, to determine where, when and how to deliver the adjustment.

Gentle and Effective - The activator is painless, effective and swift.  This technique not only can be used at the spine, but is quite effective on the extremities and other joints, making it an ideal technique for the athlete or the physically active individual.

Safety - Activator is considered among the safest chiropractic techniques, and if employed properly, can be used without apprehension on children, the elderly or even infants. Doctors who are "proficiency rated" must attend annual continuing education seminars and are thoroughly
tested and certified.
This video, often used as a welcome to new patients before their first visit, has an excellent explanation of the concept of nerve interference.
Thank you to Activator Methods for making it available on-line.
Research - The Activator Methods body of research continues to grow into all areas of chiropractic, and includes ongoing projects in geriatrics, spinal biomechanics and treatment of vertebral disc herniations.  Research papers are published in leading journals and may also be found on the Activator Methods website.

Doctor's Rating - The governing board of this technique uses a series of tests for doctors in order to become certified at different levels. Dr. Ed Rabin is proud to have earned the "Advanced Proficiency Rating," the highest given for non-instructors, and has maintained this status for more than 10 years.
